What inspired you to write this book?
I have a strong desire to share the important things I learned from my personal transformation with other women living the second half of their lives.
What topics in your book or background do you think book clubs would find interesting?
Making major life changes after a certain age can be difficult. I teach women that it is never too late to do the things you always said you were going to do.
Tell us about your career outside of writing and how it influences your writing
I’ve never been one to accept the status quo. I spent a good number of years in the corporate world working in sales and marketing, and I’ve been writing for years. However, when I was laid off a few short years before retirement, I decided to use the change of events to take a hard look at myself. Then I set about tackling two major issues I was struggling with. First, I adopted a healthier lifestyle, lost 88 pounds, and wrote an award-winning book about my journey. Then I conquered a lifelong fear of public speaking.
Describe your style of writing
My style of writing is best described as conversational. One reviewer said she enjoyed reading my books because it was like having friend in the room with them.
Which authors have inspired you?
Virtually any self-help book written by a female author over 40 speaks to me.
